These Animated Low-Poly Ocean Animals all contain a dynamic Spline blueprint, which makes your creatures bend and roll as they swim along your custom spline path!
The package comes with 7 creatures, each including their own procedural spline animation Blueprints:
- Orca
- Beluga Whale
- Dolphin
- Manatee
- Manta Ray
- Stingray
- Cuttlefish
Each creature comes with its own Vertex Animated mesh, which is compatible with the Fish School System and Fish School System V2 packages.
The spline blueprints are highly customizable and create life-like Animations by dynamically changing speeds, and transforming bones to bend & roll around corners. The Dolphin, Orda & Beluga Whale can optionally open their mouth when nearing the player. All creatures include physics assets created for rag-doll effects which include jaw hinge movement.
The Animal Materials do not use texures, but instead use material gradient nodes, to save on Hard Drive space. These Materials have been planned in advance to allow maximum tweaking so you can adjust the color and effects of your material instances with complete control. The Blueprints also allow you to customize the materials of each creature, and contain a random ‘variety’ variable that adjusts the materail ‘shade’ of each instance of the animals.
A demo scene has been included with Underwater PostProcess Settings, Caustic Lighting, Fog, & Depth of Field, along with a stylized world-space sand material.
The Dolphin, Beluga Whale, Orca & Manatee contain the following Animations:
- Idle
- Swim
- Pose Turn Left
- Pose Turn Right
These creatures use a blendspace animation blueprint to drive the direction of their dynamic swimming animations.
The Orca, Dolphin & Beluga Whale additionally include a Jaw Open Pose Animation, and the Orca also includes:
- Beached Idle animation
- Beached ‘begging for food’ animation
- Beached eating animation.
The Manta Ray and Stingray include a swimming animation and an idle animation, and utilize look-at coordinates to rotate the bones of their tail to match the spline.
The Cuttlefish contains a single swimming animation.
