Licensing

With the release of our open source version, we’re introducing a new licensing structure that reflects how people actually use our plugin and the kind of developer culture we want to support. We’ll go into the details below, but here’s the overview:

  • The plugin now contains full source code access, with no license keys, no DRM, no EXE installer.
  • There are two versions: Lite ($1), Pro ($135).
  • All versions are perpetual one-time purchases, licensed per seat.
  • We offer custom per project licenses, but you’ll have to contact us to get this.
  • We offer updates for the last 5 engine versions (so if 5.6 is the latest, we will offer support for 5.2+)
  • If your project has a budget over $100k, a studio licence (FAB) or a per-project custom license is required.
  • Support is available for all users, Lite or Pro, but Pro users get priority
  • If we end up releasing a major update (a full overhaul), we can’t promise that it will be free. But we’ll definitely offer a discount to anyone who already owns the original.

These changes come directly from the feedback we’ve received.
Developers told us they wanted less friction, more trust, and a model that works with the way teams actually collaborate. So that’s what we’ve built.

Priority support for Pro #

Support is available to everyone, but Pro customers receive priority. That means:

  • Pro support requests are answered first
  • You’ll get more in-depth help and troubleshooting time
  • If there’s a choice between two tickets, we’ll always help the Pro user first

We do our best to support all users, but this helps us stay sustainable while giving serious devs the backup they need.

How do number our Versions? #

We use a versioning system like Unreal’s: Major.Minor.Patch (e.g. 1.2.3).

  • A change in the primary number (e.g. 1.0 – 2.0) counts as a major update.
  • A change in the first demimal place (e.g. 1.2 – 1.3) includes feature updates.
  • A change in the second demimal place (e.g. 1.2.3 – 1.2.4) includes bug fixes and engine support updates.

We want you to be able to pick a version that works for your project and stick with it without being forced to upgrade unless you want to.

Bug fixes and Unreal version support #

We guarantee bug fixing support for the last 5 Engine Versions. That includes:

  • Bug fixes backported to the version you’re using
  • Minor releases to support new Unreal versions
  • Stability improvements without breaking changes

No license keys. No DRM. #

We’ve completely removed our old EXE-based installer and any kind of license system.
From now on, all purchases come as a clean ZIP download just like you’d expect from a typical FAB asset.
There’s no license validation or telemetry of any kind.
This is a trust-based system, and it’s why this licensing page matters.
We’re counting on the community to respect the license terms so we can keep building this plugin sustainably.

Licensing on FAB #

Plugins sold on FAB are licensed per seat, as required by the official Fab EULA:

“Plugins […] are offered to you on a per-seat basis and may only be used by the number of users that you have purchased licenses for.”

“Distribution of Plugins in source format to your employees, affiliates and contractors is permitted so long as use by those […] does not cause you to exceed the number of paid users you have purchased for the Plugin.”

This means if your team includes multiple developers using the plugin, you’ll need to purchase a seat for each one.
You’re allowed to share the plugin internally through private repositories or team folders, but only up to the number of users you’ve licensed may actually use it.

“Use” isn’t strictly defined in the EULA, so if you’re unsure whether someone on your team counts (for example, a tech artist modifying a material function or a developer wiring it into gameplay), we recommend playing it safe and including them in your seat count. When in doubt, just reach out, we’re happy to clarify.

If you’d rather license the plugin per project instead of per seat, please Contact Us.
Just get in touch, and we’ll set you up with a per-project license that’s better suited for your team.

Personal vs Professional (FAB Tiers) #

When purchasing through FAB, you’ll be asked to choose either a Personal or Professional license tier. This isn’t about features, it’s just based on your revenue:

  • Personal License – For individuals or studios earning less than $100,000 USD/year
  • Professional License – For individuals or studios earning $100,000 USD/year or more

Both tiers give you the same plugin, features, and rights. The only difference is pricing based on your business size.
You won’t need to upgrade later if your revenue increases. The license is based on your revenue at the time of purchase.

Studio Licensing (Custom License) #

For larger studios, small studios or anyone who prefers simpler licensing, we offer a Custom Studio License directly through our site.

It includes:

  • Per-project licensing (no seat limits)
  • Everything in the Pro version
  • Optional support contract
  • No revenue cap
  • Flexible terms tailored to your needs
  • Keeps pricing fair for small and large studios

If your team’s a bit more complex or you just don’t want to track who’s using what, this is the way to go.
Custom licensing isn’t just for large studios. It’s also how we support smaller indie teams who need more flexibility.
It helps us keep the plugin accessible for everyone, while still making sure the project stays sustainable long-term.

Contact us, we’ll make sure it’s a good fit, and get you set up quickly without the back-and-forth.

What if I already bought the plugin? #

We’ve had a lot of support from early adopters and we want to honor that.

If you previously bought the plugin through our website, you’re entitled to the new open source version at no extra cost, even if the pricing has changed since then.
Just open up your Downloads Page and you’ll find it there.

Distribution platforms #

The plugin is currently available through:

  • Our Website
  • FAB (Coming Soon)
  • Gumroad (coming soon)

The version coming soon to FAB is a brand new listing, and it reflects all the changes mentioned here: open source, no license keys, and the new pricing structure.

As always, if you have any questions or feedback don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re on Discord and email, and we’d love to hear from you.
